Jiayuan Charity’s annual concert at Monash University’s Alexandra Theatre brought the community together with a heartwarming theme: “Children Help Children.” With a focus on supporting homeless kids, the event was a resounding success. Attendees not only enjoyed a night of music and inspiration but also contributed to raising $4,000, which was donated to Anchor Community Care. The concert didn’t just raise funds—it sparked a broader movement, encouraging individuals and organisations to take action for homeless children, making a meaningful impact beyond the stage.

Jiayuan Charity’s leaders took to the airwaves with an inspiring interview on SBS Radio, where they shared powerful stories of their work supporting homeless children. Their passion and dedication captured listeners’ hearts, broadening the charity’s reach and motivating even more people to join the cause and make a difference.

Jiayuan Charity celebrated their incredible achievements with a joyful gathering on November 30, 2023. Volunteers, donors, and community members came together in gratitude, recognizing the collective effort that fueled the charity’s success. The event was a heartwarming tribute to everyone who made their mission of helping homeless children possible.

The five senior leaders of Jiayuan Charity—Phoebe, Victoria, Zhan, Sarah, and Jeremy—were invited to the Chinese Consulate. During this visit, they introduced Jiayuan Charity and received support from Consul Wang. This meeting was a significant milestone for Jiayuan, as it provided an opportunity to establish connections with influential figures and gain valuable support for their cause. The consulate’s backing affirmed the importance of Jiayuan’s mission and encouraged further collaboration and growth for the charity.

Jiayuan Charity met with Anchor Community Care to interview them and understand the current situation of homeless children in Australia. This meeting provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by homeless children and the support needed to address these issues.

Jiayuan Charity held a video workshop for its leaders, focusing on creating promotional content for the upcoming concert. This workshop aimed to develop the technical skills of younger members, fostering their creativity and involvement in the charity’s activities.

Jiayuan Charity organised their first charity movie night event to gather donations for Anchor Community Care. The event aimed to bring the community together for an evening of entertainment while raising funds for a vital cause. Attendees enjoyed a selection of popular films, snacks, and refreshments, with all proceeds going directly to support homeless children through Anchor Community Care.

Jiayuan Charity held a workshop in the morning where the senior leaders mentored younger members, teaching them skills such as writing emails to contact organisations and editing videos. In the afternoon, Jiayuan Charity invited members of AHBIC, VAA, and CCFA to celebrate Jiayuan receiving DGR status from the Australian government and the success of the 2022 concert.

On March 23, 2023, Jiayuan Charity received approval from the Australian government and achieved DGR status.
