On December 6, 2023, Jiayuan Charity chose homeless children as the beneficiaries and successfully held its annual charity concert at the Monash Alexandra Theatre, Monash University. Guided by the theme “Children Help Children,” the event was a significant success. They not only donated $4,000 from the concert proceeds to Anchor Community Care but also inspired more individuals and organisations to focus on the plight of homeless children.
On December 4, 2023, Jiayuan Charity’s senior and junior leaders were interviewed by SBS Radio. This opportunity arose due to the significant attention garnered by their dedication and benevolent actions. In the interview, the leaders shared the charity’s initiatives and heartwarming stories from their experiences. This interview helped Jiayuan Charity reach a broader audience, highlighting their efforts and inspiring others to contribute to charitable causes, particularly those benefiting homeless children.
On November 30, 2023, Jiayuan Charity held a celebratory party to commemorate their achievements and express gratitude to all their supporters. The event was a joyful occasion, bringing together volunteers, donors, and community members who had played a crucial role in the charity’s success.
On November 29, 2023, the five senior leaders of Jiayuan Charity—Phoebe, Victoria, Zhan, Sarah, and Jeremy—were invited to the Chinese Consulate. During this visit, they introduced Jiayuan Charity and received support from Consul Wang. This meeting was a significant milestone for Jiayuan, as it provided an opportunity to establish connections with influential figures and gain valuable support for their cause. The consulate’s backing affirmed the importance of Jiayuan’s mission and encouraged further collaboration and growth for the charity.
On October 12, 2023, Jiayuan Charity met with Anchor Community Care to interview them and understand the current situation of homeless children in Australia. This meeting provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by homeless children and the support needed to address these issues.
On May 28, 2023, Jiayuan Charity held a video workshop for its leaders, focusing on creating promotional content for the upcoming concert. This workshop aimed to develop the technical skills of younger members, fostering their creativity and involvement in the charity’s activities.
On April 23rd, Jiayuan Charity organised a movie night event to gather donations for Anchor Community Care. The event aimed to bring the community together for an evening of entertainment while raising funds for a vital cause. Attendees enjoyed a selection of popular films, snacks, and refreshments, with all proceeds going directly to support homeless children through Anchor Community Care.
On March 28th, Jiayuan Charity held a workshop in the morning where the senior leaders mentored younger members, teaching them skills such as writing emails to contact organisations and editing videos. In the afternoon, Jiayuan Charity invited members of AHBIC, VAA, and CCFA to celebrate Jiayuan receiving DGR status from the Australian government and the success of the 2022 concert.
On March 23, 2023, Jiayuan Charity received approval from the Australian government and achieved DGR status.
