Cody, a Xavier boy, is passionate about music and actively participates in his school’s choir and orchestra. He is also a junior singer in the Australian Boys Choir. Skilled in both the cello and piano, Cody was elected music captain during his early years, showcasing his leadership and dedication to music.

Beyond his musical talents, Cody is deeply committed to giving back. Cody has been involved in the charity since a young age. Through years of volunteering, he has learned the importance of helping others and contributing to the community. Whether performing in charity concerts or joining 2024 Melbourne Marathon Festival for charity, Cody consistently strives to make a meaningful impact and support Jiayuan Charity in every way he can.

Ivanka Qiu

Ivanka Qiu is a highly disciplined and enthusiastic girl who greatly enjoys music, sport and reading. She is grateful that she has achieved solid music knowledge and outstanding performance skills with the support of Jiayuan. Ivanka is passionate about sharing the joy of music with peers; and becoming a young leader of Jiayuan Charity to actively support the team to help others and contribute to the community.

Aden Zheng

Meet Aden, an inquisitive and bright young boy with a zest for exploring the world around him. He has already participated in three charity concerts, starting at the tender age of five. Despite his young age, Aden has dedicated significant effort to making the world a better place. Alongside his passion for playing the piano, Aden enjoys swimming, tennis, snowboarding, skiing, coding, and chess. His talents have been recognized with an “Excellence in Mathematics” award and a Responsibility Award. It seems he has boundless energy and enthusiasm to fuel his many pursuits!

Jen Tian

Jen Tian holds an Investment Director position at Merricks Capital, one of the top tier investment firms in Australia that provides capital solutions across commercial real estate; agriculture and specialised infrastructure.

Jen is a highly experienced investment banker and commercial real estate finance expert who gained her skills from working at two of Australia’s leading investment firms, as well as in senior banking roles with two of the big four banks in Australia.

Jen is a business leader who managed a team of Business Bankers at National Australia Bank and managing a portfolio of corporate clients, and today is involved in the leadership program at Merricks Capital. She believes in developing young leaders so as to help them achieve the best of their potentials.

Jen holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Commerce (MoC) degree, major in finance and accounting from Deakin University. She was also a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) of Australia.

Aiden Fu

Aiden is a warm-hearted kid who enjoys his time in the Jiayuan Music Group and the charities that help others in need.

Aiden is a focused, hard-working, and talented Year 4 student from Caulfield Grammar. He loves playing the piano and the violin, Aiden started his piano journey nearly two years ago, and his efforts and hard work have been proven by the achievements of several awards from his piano competitions. He has won several first prizes and exceptional young talent special prizes from the International Music Competitions. He has been awarded the Paris Grand Prize Virtuoso, the New York Golden Classical Music Awards, and the 2023 Paris Music Competition Gold Prize. He is very proud of himself and so are we. He is very focused on what he is doing and gives a lot of effort to help others. He is preparing himself for the AMEB Grade 8 Piano Exam and we believe that he can achieve what he is aiming for.

Besides music, Aiden is also a very active young boy. He loves sports as well. He enjoys all types of sports, such as swimming, basketball, tennis, golf, and recently he learned to surf as well.

Aiden is a humble and gentle boy. He is very positive about what he is doing. He enjoys the work in the Jiayuan Charity and is willing to learn as he grows with the charity group and the other junior leaders. He looks forward to becoming a great leader in the future.

Darren Meng

Darren is a remarkably talented and compassionate individual with a deep passion for music and the arts. His journey in the world of music began at the age of 9 when he embarked on piano lessons at Jiayuan Studio. Notably, at the age of 10, he not only successfully passed the demanding AMEB Grade 8 examination but also achieved the highest score of A+. Furthermore, Darren has showcased his exceptional piano skills by clinching first prize in various international piano competitions.

Currently in Year 6 at Haileybury College, Darren not only assumes the role of class captain but also eagerly lends his musical talents to school assemblies, providing piano accompaniments and captivating performances. Beyond his musical pursuits, Darren has a passion for painting, programming, video production, badminton and taekwondo, having attained a black belt in the latter discipline.

Adding to his impressive array of talents and achievements, Darren actively participates in Jiayuan Charity, where he holds the position of a junior leader. In this role, he learns from senior leaders about organization management, communication with relevant institutions, and the promotion of charitable initiatives. Together with junior leaders, Darren contributes to the upkeep of the organization’s website and leads younger Jiayuan Charity members in various projects tailored to their abilities, including designing posters, creating videos, and offering valuable suggestions. Darren’s commitment to the community and his diverse talents makes him a truly exceptional and well-rounded individual.

Fanwei Meng

Fanwei Meng is a highly dedicated and knowledgeable legal professional with expertise in Civil Law, Criminal Law, International Economic Law, and Legal Practice. With a profound understanding of these subjects, Fanwei completed a master’s thesis on International Law, demonstrating a deep commitment to academic excellence.

During Fanwei’s academic journey, they were an integral part of the university’s debate team in the Law Department, honing their skills in legal argumentation and critical thinking. Additionally, Fanwei gained practical experience by regularly interning at a prestigious law firm. In this role, they actively contributed to the drafting and delivery of various legal documents, supported lawyers in legal investigations, and participated in court hearings for litigation cases.

One of Fanwei’s notable responsibilities was guiding the criminal investigations of the police. They oversaw the filing process at the police station and reviewed criminal investigation files. Fanwei fearlessly interrogated suspects infected with severe contagious diseases, such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. They even personally visited crime scenes to provide valuable guidance for the investigation work conducted by public security organs. Notably, Fanwei played a vital role in investigating and resolving major cases involving high-ranking officials in large state-owned enterprises in Tianjin.

Ma Qiang

Ma Qiang（ Mac MA）, PhD in urban planning, professor-level senior engineer, registered urban planner in China. He has successively taught as post-doctor and lecturer in the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, and worked as senior planner at Beijing Tsinghua Urban Planning and Design Institute and Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., and a visiting scholar at the University of Melbourne. In more than 20 years of working experience, he has successively won more than 30 national, provincial and municipal excellent planning awards in China, published more than 30 academic papers, and published two urban planning books . He has won many well-known planning research awards such as China Jin Jingchang Excellent Urban Planning Paper Award and China Qian Xuesen Urban Studies Gold Award. He has participated in many urban planning and design projects in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Dalian, Qingdao, Xi’an, Zhengzhou, etc.

Dr. Jianzhen Ou

Dr. Jianzhen Ou is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, RMIT University, one of the 18 Chief Investigators of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science (COMBS), and a former ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) recipient. His research directions are closely aligned with the interests of Australian health and the environment. He is one of the key inventors of the product “Human Gas Sensor Capsule” which provides a non-invasive and effective approach to diagnosing human irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). He has also developed “upcycling” technologies of turning plastic and tyre wastes into useful electronic “nano-materials” for renewable energy harvesting and storage. Dr. Ou was the recipient of several prestige awards including the Australian Research Magazine Top Rising Star, the Victoria Fellow, and the AMA Innovation Award.

Dr. Chenghua Sun

Dr Chenghua Sun received his Bachelor’s degree (2000) in Materials Physics at Central South University and PhD (2008) in Materials Science at Institute Of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Dr Sun joined the University of Queensland as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2007, receiving UQ top-award of Research Excellence in 2009 and the title of International Fellow from the Queensland Government. Later Dr Sun worked as a postdoctoral fellow for Royal University of Technology (Sweden), Princeton University and Harvard University. In 2013, Dr Sun was awarded the Future Fellow by Australian Research Council and joined Monash University in 2013. Since 2017, Dr Sun have been appointed as an Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), working on rational design of catalysts for clean energy and environment. So far, Dr Sun published 310 journal papers, leading to an overall citation of 22,000 times.

Dr.Yiqun Yan

Dr.Yiqun Yan is a famous hapatobiliary surgeon in China, entitled with chief surgeon, professor of surgery and tutor of doctorship. Having been working both in HPB clinical and research field for more than 39 years, he has already performed more than 8000 HPB operations and accumulated rich experience in the treatments of various benign and malignant diseases in liver and biliary system, especially in the high difficult and complicate surgeries.

He used to be the director of hepatic department in Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital (EHBH) for decades and now he works in Shanghai Jiahui international hospital. He is a committee member of Chinese College of Surgeons (CCS) of Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA) and committee member of the liver cancer branch of the Shanghai Anti-cancer Association. He is also a review expert of the National Food and Drug Administration of China.

From 1997 to 2000, he worked as a visiting associate professor in the National Liver Transplantation Unit based in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia, with a license of overseas-training transplant doctor registered in NSW medical board. At the same time, he conducted his post-doctorate research in Centenary Institute of Sydney University. Then he became a member of International Transplantation Society and Australia and New Zealand Transplantation Society as well.

Dr. Puqi Jiang

Dr. Jiang was Director of Orchestral Activities at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and Maestro of the University of Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Jiang has enjoyed an active international conducting schedule as well as university-level teaching for many years. Since 1990, he has conducted more than ten professional orchestras in the United States, China, Austria, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Jordan, Macedonia, and the United Kingdom. He has led university faculty and student ensembles on concert tours in such cities as Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Salzburg, Prague, and Vienna.

Maestro Jiang began his career as both violinist and choirboy in Shanghai. In 1956, he entered the Music Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music where he majored in violin. He was selected for admission to the conducting department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of 18. His professional career begin in 1968 after his graduation from the Conservatory.

Dr. Jiang came to the United States in 1986 to pursue graduate studies in advanced conduction and studied at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) of the University of Cincinnati with Maestro Gerhard Samuel. At CCM, he received his M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in Orchestral Conducting. Dr. Jiang was named the Assistant Conductor of the Cincinnati Philharmonia Orchestra in 1989. From 1991 to 1992, he worked as the Conducting Assistant to Maestro Jesús López-Cobos, Erich Kunzel, and Keith Lockhart at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his University of Memphis appointment, he was the Music Director and Conductor at Penn State and Ohio University.

Dr. Jiang’s M.M. and D.M.A. orchestral conducting programs have attracted talented young conductors from places such as Australia, Canada, China, Columbia, Germany, Jordan, Korea, Taiwan, and the USA.

Guosheng Chen

Guosheng Chen is a renowned leader of 46-year professional life with the past 39 years in Australia. She has dedicated her leadership and management expertise to broad education and has made an outstanding contribution to multiculturalism in Victoria through her work in higher education, community engagement, and various strategic advisory groups within government and community organisations, applying her leadership and expertise to the development and implementation of multilingual and multicultural policies, government leadership, business and community development at local and international levels.

Guosheng Chen established the Australia-China Studies Forum at RMIT University in 1998, a platform which enables the university to engage with Chinese communities at home and abroad.

She currently holds position of Director of the Forum and is the life Honorary University Fellow of RMIT University. Prior to it she had been Head of Language Discipline at RMIT for 23 years leading the team that offers ten languages. Through her work she has established broad relationship with over a dozen diplomatic posts, and multilingual, multicultural ethnic communities in Victoria and Australia that include Arabic, Chinese, Chilean, French, Greek, German, Indian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Vietnamese and Ukraine.

For more than three decades she has been the committee member of various language strategic development and advisory groups under Victoria Department of Education and Training, and holds advisory roles in professional, business and community organisations in Victoria, Australia and China.

Guosheng gives special attention to younger generation, encouraging them to take challenges, guide them to develop and play leadership capabilities, and help them to achieve their potential.

She is the advisor to Jiayuan Music and enjoys high reputation amongst local and international communities for having been successfully bringing up a new generation of young leaders to local and global professional areas.

Jacobi Sun

Jacobi Sun, a sunny Year 3 boy from Caufield Grammar School, has incredible passion with music, sports and school activities. With help of Jiajia, Jacobi has won four international first prizes plus exceptional young talent special prizes since 2020. As an energetic boy, Jacobi also surprisingly enjoys reading and story-writing with his unconstrained imagination.

In Jacobi, the tiger sniffs the rose. He has strong commitment to try his best and to be the best, with his music, academic and sports. His tag is “I aced it!” He plays basketball for both Waverley Basketball Club and the well-known rep team Spectres 5 days a week. He is also an active tennis player and a confident swimmer. Sports build up his strength, power and team leadership, accompanied with strong hunger of victory. Music and reading open another window and enrich his heart.

Jacobi loves his brother Johann and his parents with heart. Although Jacobi always performs like a lion in basketball court, he is also happy to share basketball skills with his little brother, with generous encouragement and patience, which harvests a die-hard fan and returns with casual words like “Sharing is caring”. When he learns there are still disadvantaged groups in our society and his passion and talent can do something for them, Jacobi is always doing his best to help. As one of the youngest leaders in Jiayuan Charity, Jacobi is eager to learn from the senior leaders and passionate to be involved in all activities.

From Jacobi’s personal development we can tell that music, sports and academic performance can be complementary, the same as personal excellence and sympathy.

Ryan Ma

Meet Ryan, one of the youngest future leaders from Jiayuan music group.

Ryan is a bright and talented year 3 student from Haileybury College, practicing both piano and violin. His dedication and commitment to musical pursuits have not only won him several first-prize and young-talent award from international piano competitions (Germany, Austria and USA 2021 & 2022), but also help shaped his personality and growth as a confident young man.

At just 8 years old, Ryan has already learned what a positive impact that his music talent could make to others around him. He proactively leads and helps other fellow violin students at school string program and became the youngest member selected by the 2023 chamber music program at Haileybury. Music as part of his daily life is developing his leadership and team-work skill.

Outside of Music, Ryan is a high achiever academically at school and has been enjoying a wide range of hobbies, from travelling, fishing, reading to learning to surf, jet skiing (under supervision). He is also a strong participant in all charity-related events that he comes across, and a big fan for renewable energy.

Being young means being fearless to raise his hand. In Ryan’s first steering commitment meeting at Jiayuan young leaders group, his famous quote was “I am good at Maths, I can help manage money!” J Ryan certainly is enjoying life as a young man, continuing to be the positive influencer to everyone around him, and looking forward to be a young leader in the future.

Phoebe Geng

Phoebe Geng is a talented and determined year 10 student with a diverse range of skills and passions. She’s held a number of leadership roles at PLC such as House Captain,Class Captains and school service heads.

She has a natural ability in sports, a deep love for music. She has been continuing both piano and swimming since the age of 5 and has achieved state level for swimming and performance level for piano.

Beyond sports and music, she has a strong commitment to giving back through charity work. As a member of the first leader group of Jiayuan Music Studio, she has taken on a leadership role in organising and coordinating fundraising events and volunteer activities. Her dedication to service has helped to inspire others to get involved and make a positive impact.

She strongly believes “Alone we can do so little, together we can do much”.

Olivia Huang

Olivia Huang is an exceptional young lady who is a self-driven learner, and a passionate advocate for charitable work. Olivia is 11 years old and is one of the bright young leaders of Jiayuan Charity. Olivia’s love for reading, music, art and netball are just some of the many interests that make her a unique and multifaceted individual. She finds joy in learning new things and exploring the world around her. Her quiet and meditative nature allows her to reflect deeply on the things she has learned, and to grow in ways that inspire others. As a junior leader in Jiayuan Charity, Olivia is committed to using her skills and talents to make a difference in the world. Her dedication to learning and serving others is a testament to her character and her potential to make a positive impact in her community.

Nadia Deng

Nadia’s passion for discovering the world and exploring different areas of life is a great trait to have, as it can lead to a more well-rounded and fulfilling life. By having broad interests in music, sports, and technology, Nadia is exposing herself to a wide range of experiences that can help her develop new skills and perspectives.
Her love of playing piano and viola is particularly noteworthy, as music is a powerful tool for self-expression and emotional connection. By dedicating herself to these instruments and participating in competitions, Nadia is honing her skills and building her confidence, while also experiencing the joy of making music.

Nadia is also involved in sports, particularly figure-skating. This is a great way for her to stay active and healthy, while also learning the value of discipline and perseverance. By participating in competitions, she is also learning how to handle pressure and push herself to new heights.

Nadia is helping others through her roles as a junior school council member and junior leader in Jiayuan Charity. These experiences can help her develop leadership skills, empathy, and a sense of responsibility towards others. By working to break down barriers for others, she is demonstrating a commitment to making the world a better place.

Maya Zhang

Maya is a mature grade five studying at PLC. She really likes music. She believes that music can make our daily lives happy and joyful. It can also show a message in a piece which is really extraordinary.

She likes dancing which is also similar to music. They are both different ways to present a feeling or emotion without using words.

Swimming might seem hard, but when she gets a feeling nothing can be in her way. She takes the responsibility and sucks all the pain up. In competitions tears will always show up. Every morning having pain walking down the stairs from all the soreness yesterday at training. Injuries never disappear or say goodbye. Everything is in the past now and just feeling great about the future.

Recently she starts liking netball. Practice is the the key to everything she says. She likes playing Goal Attack but she doesn’t mind Wing Attack either. She hates defence she always chooses attack but when others wants her position she would swap. “It’s only a game” she says.

Justin Zhu

Justin Zhu is an exceptional year 6 student at The Knox School who has a passion for learning, music, sports, and technology. He has demonstrated an outstanding ability in Mathematics and Science, earning a Gold Medal in both the Indonesian and Singapore Maths Competitions. He also earned a Bronze Medal in the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad and delivered an excellent performance in the American Maths League Contest. Justin’s exceptional results on his Grade 5 Naplan test led to his selection for the school’s Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP). He is a natural leader, having been elected as SRC Captain and Sport Monitor at school

Justin’s passion for music has led him to excel in piano, classical guitar, and singing. He has been selected as a pianist in the School Orchestra for the last three consecutive years. He has been selected for both the junior and senior school choirs, despite still being in junior school this year. Justin created his own YouTube channel to share his music with others.

In addition to music, Justin has also shown great talent in sports. He has been selected to join the Ringwood Swimming Club – Platinum Level, where he undergoes one hour of squad training three times a week. Justin has been selected to represent the school at the divisional swimming competition and achieved great results. He also achieved the top overall rank as the best swimmer in his grade at the House Swimming Carnival in 2023. Justin is also a member of the Wasps basketball club, which competes against other clubs in weekly matches, and has achieved great results.

Justin’s talent in coding and technology is impressive. He has learned and gained good knowledge in Scratch and Python language. Justin is able to build advanced games or little tools with Python coding language. As one of the Junior Leaders in the Jiayuan Charity organisation, Justin fulfilled his duties by designing and building a modern and stunning website to assist with fundraising efforts. Justin’s talent in coding has helped him to assist with Jiayuan Charity’s goals of making a positive impact on the community.

Patrick Ma

Patrick Ma is a student in the 7th grade at Trinity Grammar School who is dedicated to improving himself in aspects of both in and beyond the boundaries of school. He has an everlasting passion for hockey, and his musical skill in piano and cello has immensely improved through 7 years of hard work.

Patrick is curious of the many new things life offers to him, especially of his ascension to Senior School in 2023. He has always found charities to be a dominant feature of improving our world, and is consistently being regarded as a generous child. Patrick always strives to give people all the help and support they need, disinterested in any return or exchange.

Patrick strongly believes in the saying, ‘A kind gesture can reach a wound only compassion can heal’. This allows him to always stay positive and curious, even through the hard times of life.

Gratitude and determination has always been key features of Patrick’s personality, allowing him to become a boy holding vast amounts of interests and activities; whether it be sports, music, technology or art, he always looks for the light in something and tries to make it enjoyable for each of his peers.

Chloe Siah

Chloe has a belief that she should develop confidence, courage, independence, and resilience which is why Chloe is willing to be the best and possible version of her both socially and academically. During that time Chloe has striven to excel in academic, sports and music. Currently Chloe is enjoying herself in year 5 at Lauriston Girls’ School and enjoys the challenges that is being presented to her.

Chloe has played in several charitable musical events and won a few International Piano competitions. Chloe strives for continuous improvement as we live in a symbiotic relationship with each other therefore she believes in helping one another. Chloe believes that teamwork is twice the amount better than working on your own, she learnt this both on the netball and basketball court, as well as working with the other Jiayuan students during our previous concert.

Chloe is very excited about making new memories and learning new things in the future. She can’t wait to create more enjoyable moments in her “piano career” with her teacher Jiajia Yi. Chloe is always passionate and is always searching for the WHY.

Amy Jin

Bingxin Jin, also known as Amy, is imaginative, creative and responsible Year Six student at Bialik College. She has been involved in Jiayuan charity concerts since she was five years old, which sparked her passion for music and helping others.

She has a diverse range of interests, her vivid imagination and creativity are reflected in her music, art, and writing. She has arranged music, written lyrics, directed many music pieces, and created numerous valuable artworks. Additionally, she has written two fictions. She is also an active sports enthusiast, with tennis and skiing being her favorite activities.

Amy has developed her leadership abilities as a leader in The Arts Embassy while also demonstrating her passion for the environment by leading the school’s Sustainability Festival and participating in the STS program, which supports endangered and extinct animals.

As a junior leader of Jiayuan Charity, Amy is dedicated to working with the team to create a better future. She believes that everyone can make a difference, no matter how big or small, and hopes to inspire others to find ways to help the world.

Tracy Li

Growing up in the era of digital distraction, Tracy Li has discovered her true passion by studying music and dance. She has won an international prize in music and several prizes in Australia dance sport competitions. Her talent and experience in performing arts has built up her confidence to take leadership roles at school and community; her passion and love for animals led her to participate in charitable activities and performances. Besides, she has joined in shooting and making of more than 500 charitable English teaching videos and has accumulated more than 350,000 followers on social media platforms. Now she is ready and willing to take a leadership role at Jiayuan to inspire more people and make a difference by playing piano and contributing to charity activities in the years to come.

Xinqun (Jeremy) Dong

Xinqun (Jeremy) Dong is a compassionate, talented, driven, and courageous Year 9 Student. He has an extensive range of hobbies and interests, and displays excellence and great success in academics, music, the arts, sports, and other fields.

Jeremy is a hard-working student and displays strong leadership and teamwork abilities. He has been Music Captain and Mentor Representative and achieved the academic scholarship for Yarra Valley Grammar.

He is extremely passionate for music, art, and sport, learning piano and drawing since he was 4 years old. In the past five years, he has won numerous international piano competition prizes, from America, Germany, Australia, and Spain. Apart from piano, Jeremy also plays the clarinet and keyboard for his school, being a prominent member and contributing greatly to the Concert Band, Rock Band, and Senior choir. For art, he has completed hundreds of works, including genres of sketching, colour pencil, oil painting, watercolours, and creative art, receiving many awards. Jeremy has also achieved brown belt for Karate, and trains in a swimming club.

Besides these, he is also keen on many other fields, he was selected into the International Space CRAFT Exploration Challenge. He enjoys filmmaking and has amassed thousands of subscribers and over 450 thousand views in total on YouTube.

He loves to participate in community activities such as church services, public donations, and as an accompanist for Church and Sunday school.

Jeremy was honored to be one of the leaders of the 2022 JiaYuan Charity Group, eagerly contributing to all the arrangements and organization of the charity concert. He firmly believes that “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” By working together, Jeremy wishes to inspire more young people like him to join him in the charitable work.

Zhan Zhao

Zhan Zhao is an accomplished Year 9 student from Haileybury College. He has a natural undying connection with music. In 2020, he successfully achieved AMusA for piano. He was the top of Year 8 for music, and proudly upheld the role of Music Captain in 2022.

Zhan plays the piano, jazz piano, drums, double bass and electric bass, with piano being his main instrument. With the piano, he won prizes in America, Germany, Australia and Belgium. With the double bass, he obtained a music scholarship for Haileybury College in 2020. He used his diverse musical skills to enter five ensembles at school, from piano trio to symphony orchestra. He had a craving for commitment and a determined mindset, and enjoyed those moments when he could be lost in the music. He is also a passionate writer, drawer and composer. These hobbies brought him a peaceful state of mind, which is essential for teamwork and communication.

When Zhan heard news about the charity concert, he entered without question. Teamwork and contribution are his specialities. He eagerly accepted his position as a member of the leader group in Jiayuan Music Studio. He was responsible for the voiceover and editing of the concert’s introduction. After a well-made produce followed by his astounding performance, Zhan greatly influenced many of the younger students from Jiayuan Music Studio. He hopes, along with the other leaders, that they will inspire them to continue to make positive impacts to the world.

“You‘ll be surprised how much music can accomplish.” Zhan wishes to let the world know music’s great potential.

Sarah Ma

Sarah Ma is a Year 9 student at Methodist Ladies College who strives to be independent and creative.

She regularly attends school co-curricular programs, mostly consisting of academic and music programs. She has gotten multiple certificates for maths competitions and also enjoys many clubs such as literature club, creative writing club, and many more.

Sarah greatly values the significance of gratitude and generosity, especially in the form of charity. She has always appreciated the importance of creatures and environment, and donating as much as she can to these causes will always be one of her main goals for the future.

She strongly agrees with the quote ‘nothing is impossible’, motivating her to continue to continue towards objective of becoming a better leader.

Victoria Meng

Victoria Meng is a determined and resourceful individual with a diverse range of skills and interests. She has taken on numerous leadership roles such as Music Captain in both school and community organizations.

Victoria is an accomplished piano student who has won numerous international piano competitions, achieving first prize and exceptional young talent in Germany, France, US and accomplished performance level in piano. She is also an avid reader, writer, and skier, who has organised Jiayuan charity concerts from when she was very little to encourage donations for animals, children, and bushfires.

Collaboration and good communication are central to Victoria’s methodology, and she firmly believes in the power of collective action and fulfils this by training our younger leaders and acting as their mentor. She has a strong commitment to giving back to her community and has dedicated her time and effort to several charitable causes, inspiring many young children to join her and work diligently to create meaningful change.

Having an interest in law, Victoria is committed to personal growth and development, and she believes that working together is key to making a meaningful impact in the world.
