The Australia-China International Music and Arts Festival was hosted at The Edge Music Hall in Melbourne on 25 th July 2024. Upon learning that Jiayuan Charity is the first youth-operated charity in Victoria, the organisers of this event researched into our agenda and were touched by our annual concert’s theme “Children Help Children”. Their decision to contribute to our cause made a great difference to the magnitude of our impact.

On the 26 th of July, the festival’s organisers hosted a charity concert and award ceremony in partnership with Jiayuan Charity. During the award ceremony, the organisers delivered a $1000 cheque to our charity complement to our contributions to society. Charity leader, Zhan Zhao, received the cheque on stage on behalf of Jiayuan Charity during the award ceremony. This donation symbolises the amplification of our impact on the world, and solidifies the recognition that we have gained throughout Australia.

Out of the hundreds of incredible talents in Jiayuan Charity, it was an “honoured opportunity” for Zhan to be selected as the representative to enter this festival. Zhan entered the piano competition and was awarded First Prize by judges Caroline Almonte, Jerry Wong, and Dr. Tamara Smolyar. Prior, he has received awards from various prestigious international competitions, such as the Golden Classical Music Awards. Even though Zhan has claimed numerous awards in the past, this one held a different meaning. The decision for him to represent Jiayuan Charity reflects the recognition of his ability as a young pianist.

We greatly appreciate the organisers’ love and contribution to our cause. This act of kindness helped us build another step towards our vision of a better future.
