Cookies for Charity – Haileybury Volunteer Event

Author: Zhan Zhao

In September 2024, Bradshaw House of Haileybury College Senior School (Keysborough) hosted a meaningful fundraising initiative titled “Cookies for Charity.” Jiayuan Charity leader Zhan Zhao took the opportunity to speak to the Bradshaw House cohort. He introduced them to Jiayuan Charity’s history, achievements, goals, as well as their “Children Help Children” campaign of 2024, garnering the support of the entire cohort.

Motivated by Jiayuan’s mission, Bradshaw House decided to dedicate all proceeds from the cookie sales to Jiayuan Charity. Across several weeks, Bradshaw representatives volunteered their time and energy to sell cookies to their classmates during breaks. Their collective effort and enthusiasm resulted in this event raising a total of $288.

This act of generosity went beyond simple fundraising; it made a tangible impact on Jiayuan Charity’s “Children Help Children” campaign. The funds raised were entirely devoted to supporting Anchor Community Care, a local organization committed to assisting children who have been affected by domestic violence. Through this initiative, the Bradshaw House students not only learned the value of philanthropy but also played a direct role in helping vulnerable children in their wider community.
